OSAKA, JAPAN – Panasonic is increasing prices of its printed circuit board materials.

The price increases affect copper clad laminates, prepregs, and “PreMulti” mass laminations with inner layer circuits. Copper clad laminates will increase 10%; prepegs and adhesion insulation sheets will increase 8%; and PreMulti will increase 5%.

The supply of epoxy resin raw materials has decreased due to tougher Chinese environmental regulations; the price of crude oil has increased, while the increase in active global demand for PCBs has placed pressure on the supply-demand balance, the firm says. As a result, high prices continue for epoxy resin, copper foil, and glass cloth.

New pricing will be effective with shipments starting Apr. 1.
