TAIPEI – Backup printed circuit board maker Aurona Industries reported September revenues up 4% year-over-year to $3.85 million, nearly a four-year high.
Revenues for the month were up 6.2% sequentially.

The firm posted revenues of $29.4 million in the first nine months of 2013, up 3.8% from the year-ago period.

The firm attributes the September gain to growth in IC substrates and flexible PCBs.

Capacity utilization rates at IC substrate clients are expected to decline in the fourth quarter, causing Aurona's capacity utilization rate to drop 70 to 80%, say reports.

High-end backup boards are expected to grow in 2014, aided by FC CSP substrates at Unimicron Technology, Kinsus Interconnect Technology and Nanya Printed Circuit Board, according to reports.

Aurona’s revenues are also expected to rise from sales of smartphones by Apple and Samsung Electronics in 2014.
