KEDAH, MALAYSIA – Ichia Technologies has inaugurated its second state-of-the-art facility at Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP). The $102 million investment establishes a 55,000-square-meter plant on an 11-acre site that integrates automation, AI and IoT systems in alignment with Industry 4.0 principles.
The new facility expands Ichia’s production capacity for printed circuit boards (PCBs), PCB assemblies, and components serving the automotive and telecommunications industries. The site will employ approximately 600 workers, with an emphasis on high-skilled positions to support Malaysia’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, CEO of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), said the investment “powerfully affirms Malaysia’s position in the E&E sector,” adding that it supports the nation’s NIMP 2030 vision for advanced manufacturing and local talent development.
Ichia Chairman Huang Chiu-Yung highlighted that the new Kulim facility will serve as the company’s second-largest global manufacturing base, enabling long-term growth amid shifting global supply chains and reciprocal tariff challenges.
