CULVER CITY, CA – Ohmega filed provisional patents for two new OhmegaPly designs: a macro tuning technique for embedded resistor elements and a split trace thin film fractional resistor.

Macro tuning puts voids (holes) in the resistor to increase the value of the resistor. Ohmega added copper pads (islands) in the resistor to lower the value of the resistor.

A split trace thin film fractional resister is a low-value resistor (less than 1ohm). OhmegaPly can now be used in two new areas: low-value resistors for a design that has many resistor values (from 1ohm up to 10,000ohm); low-value resistors (0.1ohm or less) in current sense resistor applications.
