BOSTON, MA – PTC integrated its Onshape CAD platform with Altium to streamline PCB design collaboration between electrical and mechanical engineering teams in a cloud-native environment.

The new connector enables PCB designs created in Altium to transfer directly into Onshape while synchronizing updates between both platforms in real time. According to PTC, the integration eliminates the need for manual file transfers or format conversions traditionally used in ECAD-MCAD collaboration workflows.

The system maintains electrical design history within Altium and mechanical design history within Onshape while allowing teams to access designs through a web browser without additional software installation.

PTC said the integration is intended to improve coordination between electrical and mechanical teams by enabling faster enclosure verification, design review, and change tracking throughout the product development process.

PTC provides engineering and manufacturing software platforms for product development and industrial applications worldwide.
