LAS VEGAS – Boardera Software announced a new web-based app for ordering printed circuit boards built on Numerical Innovation's toolset. The companies based on the app on knowledge gained in electronics design, manufacturing and automation, working with several manufacturers in North America and elsewhere to provide PCBs.

Ordering prototypes takes less than five minutes, the firms said in a press release.

Toolsets used for the app include:

  • Helping to identify the true unit of measurement referenced in drill files within a project where drill file measurements are not provided.
  • Supplying DFM (design for manufacturing) reports for the bare board process, with every variable available for adjustment.
  • A standardized way to read and describe many file formats, such as: RS-274-D Standard Gerber, RS-274-X Extended Gerber, NC Drill (Excellon, XNC, and IPC-NC-349), PDF, ODB++, and IPC-2581.

The companies said future integration opportunities include:

• Monochromatic images of any of the above file formats

• Exports of all the above formats to ODB++ and IPC-2581

• PCB panelization features (mirror, flip, rows, columns, etc.)

• An API to add features to any of the file formats

• Netlist extraction

“Numerical Innovation has been a great development partner. They have gone above and beyond to support us at every stage of the integration process, we really could not have done it without them,” said Curtis Hunter, CEO, Boardera.

The app is available on the Boardera website at boardera.ca.
