TOKYO -- Beset by Covid-19 related slowdowns for most of the fiscal year, Zuken saw revenue rise to 9 million yen, up 3.8% from a year ago, for its fourth quarter ended Mar. 31.

Operating profit rose 22% to 1.42 million yen, and net profit jumped more than 111% to 1.03 million yen.

For the year, Zuken's revenues fell 1.6% year-over-year. The ECAD company reported overall sales of 28.8 billion yen ($263 million), a drop from the previous year's record high.

Operating profits fell 14.7% to 2.89 million yen, while net income dropped 1.8% to 2.24 million yen.

While citing issues related to the pandemic for the lower sales, Zuken noted the rollout of an improved CR-800 Design Force platform as one of the highlights of the fiscal year. It forecast current fiscal year sales of 31 billion yen ($283 million), while noting the forecast remains cloudy due to Covid-19.
