Cadence Acquires AWR for $160M

SAN JOSE – Cadence Design Systems signed a definitive agreement to acquire AWR, a developer of high-frequency RF EDA software.

Cadence will pay National Instruments $160 million in cash for AWR, which NI acquired in 2011.

Cadence expects 110 AWR employees to join the firm.

The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2020.
