WASHINGTON – A private equity firm based in Washington, DC, has acquired KCA Electronics and Marcel Electronics International in separate stock transactions.

HCI Equity Partners has appointed Shane Whiteside president and CEO of the combined entity. HCI and Whiteside previously worked together during the formation of TTM Technologies.

The combined companies will provide a range of complex printed circuit board products, including rigid, rigid-flex, and RF/Microwave circuits to companies in the aerospace and defense and commercial market sectors.

The firm will have 320 employees and will continue operations in Anaheim and Orange, CA, with a focus on growth at each location.

No financial terms were disclosed.

Whiteside was COO and executive vice president at TTM prior to leaving in 2013. Before that, he was director of operations at Power Circuits, whose merger with Pacific Circuits in 1999 led to the start of TTM's rise to become one of the top 5 largest PCB fabricators in the world. He is also a director with AvaSure and Zentech Manufacturing, the latter an US-based EMS company.
