NAPLES, FL -- Richard (Dick) Finigan, the former chairman and CEO of Pads Software, passed away on Jul. 4.

He was 77.

A suburban Boston native, Finigan attended college there, followed by a stint in the US Army. He later was vice president and controller at Prime Computer.

He later cofounded Viewlogic Systems, an early developer of CAD software design tools. In 1993 he was named chairman and CEO of Pads, which he led for eight years, up until its acquisition by Mentor Graphics in 2001.
