SAN DIEGO – Altium reported fiscal first-half revenue up 28% year-over-year to $102 million. Printed circuit board design software grew 16% to $79 million.

Net profit for the period ended Dec. 31 was $22.8 million, an increase of 38%.

The company’s electronic components search engine Octopart had revenue of $22 million, up 105% compared to the fiscal first half of the prior year. The surge is attributed to designers searching for parts to overcome supply chain issues and semiconductor chip shortages, say reports.

Registered monthly active users of Altium 365 increased 54% to 19,743. Commercial accounts to the cloud were up 29% to 7,734.

Revenue in Europe, the Middle East and Africa was up 25% to $23 million, while the Americas grew 14% to $26.5 million during the period.

“While I’m very pleased with our first-half performance, we must maintain intensity and focus on the second half, as our first-half performance should be compared to a low base last year that was impacted by Covid and the business and organizational model changes that we made as we pivoted to the cloud,” said Altium CEO Aram Mirkazemi.

Altium expects full-year revenue between $213 million and $217 million.
