RENO, NV -- PCB Solutions will award thousands of dollars to American college students as part of a new national scholarship created to honor the cofounder's late wife. 

The scholarship is named for the late Chuan Ai Lu Engstrom, the wife of PCB Solutions president Greg Engstrom, who passed away in 2014. Ai Engstrom was a Chinese immigrant who later became an American citizen.

"Ai loved learning English and was proud to be an American. This scholarship is in honor of her loving, kind and patient legacy. She was an optimistic, loving human being," the company said in a press release announcing the award.

PCB Solutions will hold two essays contest this year to award $1000 scholarships to be applied toward tuition and fees. for a total of $2000 awarded. Funds will be distributed for the fall 2015 and spring 2016 semesters. To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time in an accredited American university or college with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. There is no age requirement.

To apply, students must submit an 800-word essay on the topic: How do you envision a global economy in the future? The essay submission deadline is 12 AM EST Aug. 1st for fall semester and Dec. 1 for the spring semester.
