DUNDONALD, SCOTLAND -- A local distributor of printed circuit board materials has gone into liquidation and is seeking a buyer.

Lamar Group said an inability to compete with low-cost manufacturing from China has led to the demise of the domestic PCB industry, drying up the market for its products.

Lamar has supplied PCB fabricators with laminates, drill boards, release film, solder mask and chemistries since 1984.

The company's liquidator told local media that “Despite several attempts to diversify into new markets the business has been unable to stop the decline in sales volume. The company is "actively seeking buyers" for Lamar's remaining assets.

The closure eliminated 11 jobs.
